Cannot Connect To Teamviewer On Mac: A Step-by-Step Guide

When joining a meeting, enter your name and the meeting ID, which you will receive from the person inviting you to the meeting. Alternatively, you may receive an invitation message with a link that will automatically connect you to the meeting. Some meetings may require a password, depending on the preferences of the initiator of the meeting. I can connect and see his top white bar with the black apple menu icon on the top left and the Finder or other conect menus but I never see the drop down and I just see grey desktop instead of his apps or launch bar or whatever should be there. Basically a desert of grey with a white bar on top and some black text.


Updating to the latest version on both sides does not fix this issue. I have a mac and when i try to connect any windows computer I get 2 error pop ups. One says "Unable To Connect Reason Unknown" and the other says "The Remote Team Viewer is running and old version which is out of date. Therefor you can not connect to this version anymore. Your connection partner can update Team Viewer by clicking....." please update the remote computer to the latest version of team viewer. I then reinstall (on both mac and remote PC) stop the services restart the services like advised and restart. Doesn't matter the error comes back every single time. I'm actually giving up on Team Viewer at this point because its no longer easy to use or user friendly.@JeanK


I've tried the Remote on Numerous Different Versions of Windows inlucding WIndows 7, and 8 as well as all versions of windows 10. None of them work and all give the same error. The weird thing is if I choose Remote Control using windows authentication and enter the Windows user name and password I am able to connect just fine.


Even if they reboot the computer I have to wait until they log in to be able to do anything. I can connect to the computer and I see the icons of the user accounts ready to click on one to log in. But I can not click on anything; neither the user accounts nor the Restart / Turn Off links at the bottom of the screen.


In all of these cases I connect to the client with Log Me In, log in as a user on the client Mac, and then I can connect with Teamviewer. I have been looking in to replacing Log Me In on my client computers for a year now. At the moment I have to have BOTH running on their computers, simultaneously, in order to get TeamViewer to work correctly.


The other thing it's doing, is its freezing on the account screen after 60-75 minutes. I can connect to the partner computer, but I'm not able to click on anything on the screen. I notice the clock in the menu bar does not update.


I tried going to Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Accessibility and ticked the boxes for both TeamViewer and TeamViewer_Desktop. However, after a reboot, I still cannot connect until after a user logs in.


Apple has introduced a security feature with MacOS 10.14 (and higher) that requires additional permissions to be assigned to TeamViewer to allow us to control your Mac after connecting to your computer via TeamViewer.


Not sure why this particular PC would be blocked. This is a free for personal use account. I use it for personal use and, quite honestly, I have used it to connect to a few clients instead of my TeamViewer Business account - just for convenience.


But, if it were an issue of using a free account to connect to too many PCs, it would seem that the account itself would be locked, not just a single PC. I can still log into the account from other PCs and still access all PCs in the account (with the exception of this blocked one of course).


And I'd like to explore a "pay as you go" model where you just pay for what you use. This could mean a per-connection payment scheme or maybe a per-GB bandwidth usage scheme. You should be able to install the host application on as many PCs as you like - no charge. I just think remote assistance can be done more cheaply than TeamViewer while maintaining a simple UI, fast connections and a great looking resolution.


A lot of the stuff in TeamViewer and LogMeIn is simply overkill for me. I need a fast connection, good resolution, file transfer, wake on lan and a way to tell me when antivirus (or other apps) need to be renewed. That's about it.


I think the real problem they are trying to "solve" with the 3 factor authentication (email address/password + email link + web page link) is people sharing their logins with others. While the simple way to do that would be to automatically log off all other connections using the same email/password from another device.


I deleted it from the account while it showed in offline PCs, but TeamViewer client still will not enable any submit buttons, so you cannot re-add that PC using ANY account. I'm not sure that's something you want to do even to potential clients - stop them from adding a PC to a paid account. Simply stunning.....


After installing TeamViewer and its first connection to the network, the program receives a unique identification number (ID). It allows remote users to perform a remote connection to your computer, and vice versa. If you are using a free version of TeamViewer to connect to different computers (for commercial purposes), there is a high probability that your remote connections via the TeamViewer will be limited to a value not exceeding five minutes, after which the connection will be terminated.


Make sure that you and the users you connect are using the free version of TeamViewer. If one user uses a free one and the second uses a commercial one, then the commercial version will consider the use of TeamViewer for commercial purposes.


For me, it worked with just the registry key. I wanted to change the ID since an employee resigned from my office, and had all the IDs of the TeamViewer installations we had. With different IDs there is almost no possibility the person can reconnect with those stations again. Changed the remote passwords as well!

Reboot the computerAfter the reboot, you should have a new TeamViewer ID number when you open up TeamViewer.I cannot confirm that it works with ever version of TeamViewer 13 for Mac, but I did get it to work with at least one version of TeamViewer 13 a while ago.


Changing the MAC address on Centos 7 is straightforward yet while it will indeed yield a new client id, this is not sufficient as TV likely fingerprints other features as the warning on commercial use was even stricter that the earlier 5 minute warning as it became minutes of connection time.


To fix the issue, it is necessary to change network settings:In TeamViewer open Extras -> Options, and in General category find Network settings and underIncoming LAN connections, select the accept option.


For home users who want to access a computer remotely, it doesn't get any easier than TeamViewer. Whether you want to access your home computer from anywhere or connect to a friend's machine to help them out, TeamViewer is a great option.


Using TeamViewer is simple. To start a remote connection, you'll need your partner's ID and Password provided on the main menu. If you're connecting to someone else, ask them to install the app and send you these details via email or other means.


Note that if you're connecting to someone who isn't tech-savvy or can't install the full version of TeamViewer, they can use the Download QuickSupport button on TeamViewer's download page to download a single-use version.


Enter the Partner ID in the box, make sure you have Remote control selected, and hit Connect. After a few seconds, you'll see a prompt to provide the other machine's Password. Enter this and you'll connect within a moment.


One of TeamViewer's best features is unattended access. This allows you to remotely connect to your own computers from any machine running TeamViewer. It takes a bit of preparation to do, but it's worth it for anyone who uses remote access regularly. 2ff7e9595c
